1970s Sicura 'Signal' Mechanical Alarm Watch
Whilst nearly 60 years old this watch is supplied in NOS (new old stock) condition, meaning it appears never to have been worn! It has however clearly been regularly serviced over years but kept purely as a collectors piece, timekeeping is absolutely perfect, with full functionality of all parts.
The 'Signal' was produced between 1969 and 1975 by Swiss watch manufacturer Sicura, a company owned and run by Ernest Schneider, the man who in 1979 bought control of Breitling, transforming the failing company into the global empire it has become today.
Many of Schneider's design concepts were merged into the Breitling brand in the early days, although nothing quite like this was ever reproduced!
Many Sicura watches and even the Signal model can still be found today, although very few came with a gold plated finish, and there's nothing close to the original condition of this remarkable piece for sale anywhere that we know of.
The highly unique feature of this intriguing watch is its 'signal' function. This allows you to set an alarm time, secondary to the primary clock. When the time is reached the watch mechanically buzzes and vibrates to alert the wearer - see video.
Complete with original Air-Racer bracelet, box and manual. Ready to wear and enjoy.
