1971 Rolex Oyster Perpetual
1971 Rolex Oyster Perpetual - Ref 1002.This really is an astonishing watch for its age, though more than 50 years old it still offers absolutely perfect timekeeping with a power reserve lasting the full 48hrs!This particular 1002 features the very rare and seldom seen 'long-index' dial, which is not only clean and shows no spots or patina, but instead has a gleaming finish like new.The glass is completely flawless and may have been replaced by Rolex in recent years as there isn't a single mark on it! The silver/champagne coloured dial and hands are incredibly crisp and clean, the case too little more than microscopic marks and the bracelet is as good as one could hope for a watch from this period.
Whilst no original paperwork accompanies this watch it has clearly been a highly cherished piece, very well serviced and maintained too in order keep an exceptional level of working precision. At 34mm, compared to some larger modern Rolex watches it's extremely comfortable to wear and certainly won’t disappoint its new owner. Supplied in Rolex storage case. Includes a number of spare links and should comfortably fit an 8" wrist size. Recently authenticated and supplied with an independent certificate.
